WHAT IS ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING?
Metal Additive Manufacturing (Metal 3D Printing) is a manufacturing process that uses a focused energy source, such as a laser, to melt and fuse metal powder or wire, building components layer by layer. Unlike traditional manufacturing methods, such as machining, casting and forging, Additive Manufacturing enables the production of complex geometries, intricate internal features and lightweight structures that would otherwise be difficult or impossible to manufacture.
Laser Additive Solutions offers specialist Metal Additive Manufacturing services, including Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) and Laser Metal Deposition (LMD), providing flexible manufacturing solutions for a wide range of metal materials and applications.
LASER POWDER BED FUSION
Laser Additive Solutions can 3D Print your components using Laser Powder Bed Fusion. The maximum part size for our machine is 295mm Diameter x 400mm Height. However, if your part exceeds these dimensions we could use our alternative in-house processes to manufacture your components.
LASER METAL DEPOSTION
For larger components or thin-walled structures, we can use Laser Metal deposition, LMD, cells. LAS have two LMD cells capable of components up to 5m x 3m with max weight 2.5T.
